We currently have an opportunity for a Human Resources Representative to join our Human Resources team at our manaufacturing facility in Jacksonville, IL.

The Human Resources Representative will report to the Human Resources Manager and be responsible fo providing support to the plant including employee relations as well as:

  • Coordinate the hiring of new employees and ensure employment decisions follow company policy and employment laws.
  • Respond to employee questions and complaints regarding a wide variety of issues (FMLA, work schedules, transfers, promotions, benefits, safety, unfair treatment, performance, personal issues, pay, company policies).
  • Advise Unit Managers and Supervisors to ensure consistent application of corrective action of company policies and standards of conduct.
  • Coordinate with Unit Mgrs to determine hiring needs and ensure proper staffing levels.
  • Conduct investigations and provide summary reports to appropriate HR Director.
  • Assist with response to EEOC, DOL and unemployment claims.
  • Communicates changes in HR related policies and benefit plans. 
  • Size, scope and complexity of assigned portfolio are factors in the level of responsibility.

Job Requirements

To be considered for the Human Resources Representative opportunity, candidates should possess:

 Education:
  • BA/BS degree in Human Resources or related field preferred. 
  • MBA or other advanced degree a plus.
  • PHR or SPHR certification a plus.

Experience:

  • 5+ years of related professional and progressive Human Resource experience preferably in a Manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures used in the Consumer Packaged Goods and/or manufacturing industry preferred. 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Proficient in MS Office.
  • Knowledge in Ceridian a plus.
  • Knowledge of applicable state, federal, local employment labor laws and regulations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills and the ability to communicate and influence at all levels within the organization.
  • Self-directed with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple accountabilities and multiple internal customers.
  • Strong analytical skills as well as organizational skills.
  • Skills in handling conflict resolution situations.
  • Ability to objectively coach employees and management through complex and difficult issues.
  • Ability to be discreet with confidential information and sensitive issues.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule during key business deadlines.
  • Minimal travel required.
  • Must be team oriented with the ability to work on high collaboration and performance teams.
