Are you looking to build a strong career? Then we have an opportunity for you! We currently have an opportunity for a Category Sales Analyst to join our team at our regional office in Minneapolis, MN.

The Category Sales Analyst will be responsible for:

  • Support RCP Minneapolis Category Management team, which functions as Category Captain at Target.
  • Provide fact-based analytical support using syndicated data, POS data, Shopping Behavior data, in relation to item distribution, industry and market trends, and pricing.
  • Create, modify, and analyze category planograms using industry-accepted planogram software (JDA at Target); following Target’s category and shelving strategies.
  • Deliver syndicated data reports to both our retail customer and RCP internal management team and provide the analytical insights to help them understand business dynamics.
  • Establish strong working internal relationships with cross-functional teams across RCP Business Units.
  • Provide category focused insights to Target Buyer.

Job Requirements

To be considered for the Category Sales Analyst opportunity, candidates should possess:

Education & Experience:

  • BA/BS in Business, Marketing, Finance, or related field
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a Category Management with a consumer products company, syndicated data, CPG brokerage firm or retailer.



  • Proficient with Target POL and its applications critical for data mining and POG building is a definite plus.
  • Proficient in MS Office software (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
  • Proficient in syndicated data such as Nielsen or Information Resources, Inc. (IRI).
  • Basic understanding of panel shopping behavior data.
  • Proficient in planogram software (preferably JDA Space Planning)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills and the ability to communicate and influence at all levels within the organization.
  • Self-directed with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple accountabilities and multiple internal customers.
  • Strong analytical skills as well as organizational skills with high attention to detail.
  • Solid project management capabilities with the ability to organize and manage multiple projects.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule during key business deadlines.
  • Ability to travel approximately 10% - 15% to for off-site meetings with sales and/or retailers.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with high performance teams.
