We currently have an opportunity for a Cost Accounting Manager to join our Accounting team at our headquarters in Lake Forest, IL. 

The Cost Accounting Manager will be responsible for:

o   Responsible for computation and analysis of capitalized raw material variances, production variances, and labor and overhead variances.

o   Monitor, analyze and report on company’s raw material rebates and hedges.

o   Performs all areas of standard costing including development of raw material standards, conversion costs and reconciliation between standard and actual.

o   Conduct inventory transactional accounting.

o   Monitor numerous facilities activities.

o   Oversee the training and development of the staff.

o   Designs our future through leadership to identify areas of improvement in policies, procedures and operating methods.

o   Drive to implement solutions that address specific issues or provide improved efficiencies.

o   Seek solutions using technology-based processes.

Job Requirements

To be considered for the Cost Accounting Manager opportunity, candidates should possess: 

Education:

o   BA/BS degree in Accounting or Finance

o   MBA or other advanced degree in related field highly desirable.

o   CPA certification a plus.

Experience:

o   8-10 +years professional and progressive cost accounting and/or plant accounting experience.

o Prior team management experience combined with a proven track record of developing, coaching and mentoring a diverse staff.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

o Proficient in MS Office with high proficiency in Excel.

o Proficient in large, automated financial systems such as SAP, Oracle, JDE, or Hyperion.

o GAAP/IFRS knowledge related to Inventory and Cost of Sales.

o Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills and the ability to communicate and influence at all levels within the organization.

o Self-directed with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple accountabilities and multiple internal customers.

o Strong analytical skills as well as organizational skills.

o Exercise sound judgment with the ability to take calculated risks and make risk/return recommendations.

o Solid project management capabilities with the ability to organize and manage multiple projects simultaneously from origin through execution.

o Ability to be discreet with confidential information.

o Ability to work a flexible schedule during key business deadlines.

o Must be team oriented with the ability to work on high collaboration and performance teams.
